| Art Boards™ woodcutting blocks are made of kiln dried select soft maple. The wood is chosen for it's tight wood grain, ease of carving and ability to hold the image during printing. Planks of maple are edge jointed perfectly strait and glued with waterproof glue, dimensioned to exactly .918 inches thick (letterpress height), then finely sanded on top and bottom leaving two perfect surfaces for woodcutting and printmaking. Wood cut block can be printed by hand or in a letter press. |
